Kotra, Uttar Pradesh

Kotra is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jalaun district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
==Geography==
Kotra is located at .〔(Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Kotra )〕 It has an average elevation of 136 metres (446 feet). Kotra is near Betwa River. Favourite sweet of Kotra is called "Palangtod" and "Kalakand".Today's population is more than 10,000, but lots of people are poor because they don't have work, so many people leave Kotra, and they are living in Ahemdabad (Gujrat), Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Orai, Jhansi. Only One roadways bus is there, which comes only once in a day, that goes to Kanpur and then many private buses used to go to Orai. It used to have a small fortress called in colloquial "GARHi".Larger part is in ruins, some washed away being close to the river and some encroached. Only two Mazars are somewhat in good condition but lack of preservation may not keep these buildings of unique architecture for long available to stake KOTRA's claim to some history. Presently, The Chairman of Nagar panchayat ( Mr. Patiram ) is doing nice work. I wish some professional preservation and tourism promotion triggered to enhance this historical town lying totally neglected since river transport lost importance.
